my neighbor mows
the grassy edges
of my unkempt lawn
in the shade I try to write
this friendship poem

I really like this poem, Mr. G.
I relate to the subtle gesture by the neighbor. Made me smile; thank-you!

Thanks Mr. B. for visiting my blog and commenting on my tanka poem. In my poems I try to inject a little humor once in a while and in this particular one, in spite of my uncared for lawn, I do consider my neighbor as a friend.

BTW I am not sure now as my lawn is getting brownish for my infrequent watering...
